How many companies will I get?

It depends on your area. Near Reading, the last run found 5 firms in 30 days within 30 miles: about 1 a week. The numbers at the top of this page are Reading's; your free sample shows it in detail.

Why is a contract win a reason to talk about IT?

A new contract brings new staff, new sites or more data to look after. Buyers check their suppliers too: central government and NHS contracts that handle personal data need Cyber Essentials, or equivalent controls, before the supplier handles that data (Procurement Policy Note 014), and other public buyers can ask for it. It doesn't prove they need a new IT firm, which is why every email says what the evidence can't show.

Is this an appointment-setting agency?

No. An agency writes to people for you, usually from its own inbox and script, and charges by the month or per meeting. The Radar tells you who has a reason to talk and what to open with. You write, as yourself, so the relationship is yours from the first email.

How do you keep my client list safe?

You send company names only, never people or contact details. We use them for one thing: leaving those companies out of your Radar. They are never shown to anyone, and we delete them within 30 days of you leaving.

You emailed me. Isn't that from a bought list?

We find IT support firms as our privacy notice explains. Our list of firms comes from a business-data provider, as company data only. A director's name comes from Companies House, and the work address from an email-finding service that finds and checks it, or from the firm's own website. We write only to IT support firms, about their own area, and stop for good the moment you ask. The Radar itself never uses bought lists: every company in it comes from a public record.

What results should I expect?

We can't show client results yet: the Radar is new, and we won't invent any. What we can show is real: the reasons, dated and linked, and how many your area had last month. With their permission, our first clients' numbers go on this page as soon as they have them.

Where does the information come from?

Public sources only. Today: public contract awards from Contracts Finder, one of the government's two contract-notice services. Next: Companies House, company websites, careers pages, local business news, Find a Tender and the Scottish and Welsh contract portals. Every reason links to where we found it.

What if my area is quiet?

Some weeks are quieter. We send what we find and say so. We never pad the list with old or weak reasons. The sample works the same way: if your area has fewer than two this month, we say so and suggest a wider area.

Do you cover Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland?

Not yet. The places on this page are in England, and the Radar reads Contracts Finder, one of the government's two contract-notice services. Scotland and Wales publish many contracts on their own portals, which come next; Northern Ireland comes later, as its postcode data needs a licence we don't hold yet. If your area is there, ask anyway: we'll tell you plainly what we can find.

What if a reason is wrong?

Every reason links to its public notice, so you can check it before you write. If one is wrong, tell us: we fix the rule that let it through, and tell you what we changed.

How is this different from tender alerts?

Tender alerts and award-data tools tell you about contracts: ones you could bid for, or who won what. The Radar does one job with the winners: it keeps the small and medium firms near you, checks who owns them, and checks each one against fixed rules and its dated public notice. You get the role to write to and a first line. It finds you prospects with a reason to talk, not tenders.

What do you need from me?

Your area and what you sell. As a client, also your clients' company names, so we leave them out. Never logins, and never access to your systems.

Do you give email addresses?

No. We give the role to write to, and a link to the company's public register page. You add the address from your own tools or the company's website.

Does it work with my CRM?

Yes. Each Monday email comes with a file for HubSpot, Pipedrive or any CRM that imports a CSV. Reply with the companies you wrote to and anyone who answered, and each email keeps count of your replies and meetings.
